Sushi + Jiao Zi + Fried Orange Balls = PUKE!!!

Today went Sakae Sushi to eat. Got Tze Hao, Zhen Wei, Zhen Quan and WeeGod. Surprisingly I was the first to arrive, and the last to arrive on time. Abit de WTH... I was the outsider, invited de (cos they BSC back) den they all late lol. WeeGod even better, went to Bugis... I clearly told him was 1 stop after Raffles Place lol... Finding the place quite easy lar... Gosh... I fogot the name of the building le... my memory sucks... Went by a GIANT uniform protector! GIANT HUMONGOUS HUGE. No pics... cos i'm not a girl. Went to the place and they were hesitant because not the 3PM session yet, but heck lar, which shop dont welcome customers de... At first the food was flowing super slowly lor... And out seat very nice, right smack at the kitchen outlet there. So we kope all the plates and the customers behind no food le XD. Tze Hao went to order from menu, supposedly will keep us busy eating. In the end he meng spam, 10 Big seaweed sushi rolls, 3 plates of Fried Orange Balls and lotsa other crap. When he was ordering he was like "this one 2, that one 2, that one also 2" walao uber funny. They talk about their China experiences also damn funny. When the ordered food came ar... waseh... surely cannot finish de. Rest of the time was spent trying not to puke, taking more Jiao Zi and Fried Orange Balls, taking more Takoyaki, playing stacko with the plastic covers, and tekaning the waiters and misusing their electronic system XD. So we all ended up working hard not to throw up... Sitting beside Zhen Wei very scary... that WeeGod keep poking him... later he really puke i GG... The bill not bad lar, about $80 for the 5 of us... so-so lar... buffet mah. Then the whole mall got some redemption programme, spend dunno how much get something, we spent $80 so we get to get an umbrella, I got to keep it yay. The guy at the counter said something that we are the 2nd customers to redeem that day lol. Waseh... the whole place is like deserted de lor, its a SUNDAY, its after NOON, and theres less people in the mall than my own squad... This mall is gonna die!

ExCo "retreat"

Rather uneventful so to speak... Woke up too early for my liking and tredged to school... Clearly saw NYSE peeps and jon denied everything... Maybe I watched too much "Conspiracy Theory". Set up shop and went to work. Basically this is V1.20. Last I touched it was like in August... and this is just a 5 hour addon. I wonder if everyone has short-term memory but I clearly remember showing it to everyone already, and yet they still go woo-ahh as if its brand new. Nonetheless, they should also credit those behind the scenes like my department and of course the ExCo chair. Common thing I saw was all the people from BSC sport long hair and a total change in face (more spots for zw, less spots for ty o.O) Most er... concerning change is maybe Jon? Yeah right... probably should leave things alone.

Tomorrow gonna eat Sushi yay!
Gonna eat more than value yay!
Gonna not eat anything else...
But can anot... currently got GIANT, MAJOR, UBER HUMONGUS headache... owie...
Maybe I should rest early... but from past experiences it doesnt work
Anyway I'm odd out in that group right...
Hmmp... hate to not turn up...

Super funny "facts" about Guys and Girls

GUYS

1) Guys may be flirting around all day but before they go to sleep, they always think about the girl they truly care about.
2) Before they call, guys try to plan out a little about what they're gonna say so there aren't awkward pauses, but once he's on the phone he forgets it all and makes it up as he goes.
3) Guys go crazy over a girl's smile.
4) Guys will do anything just to get you to notice him.
5) Guys hate it when you talk about your ex-boyfriend or ex love-interest. Unless they're goin for the let-her-complain-to-you-and-then-have-her-realize-how-wonderful-and-nice-you-are method.
6) A guy who likes you wants to be the only guy you talk to.
7) Boyfriends need to be reassured often that they're still loved.
8) Guys get jealous easily.
9) Guys are more emotional than they'd like people to think.
10) Giving a guy a hanging message like "You know what?!..uh...nevermind.." would make him jump to a conclusion that is far from what you are thinking. And he'll assume he did something wrong and he'll obsess about it trying to figure it out.
11) Guys are good flatterers when courting but they usually stammer when they talk to a girl they really like.
12) Guys are very open about themselves.
13) It's good to test a guy first before you trust him. But don't let him wait too long.
14) If a guy tells you about his problems, he just needs someone to listen to him. You don't need to give advice.
15) A usual act that proves that the guy likes you is when he teases you.
16) Guys love you more than you love them if they are serious in your relationships.
17) Guys will brag about anything.
18) Guys use words like hot or cute to describe girls. We rarely use beautiful. If a guy uses that, he likes you a whole hell of a lot.
19) No matter how much guys talk about asses and boobs, personality is key.
20) Guys learn from experience not from the romance books that girls read and take as their basis of experience.
21) Guys think WAY too much. One small thing a girl does, even if she doesn't notice it can make the guy think about it for hours, trying to figure out what it meant.
22) Guys seek for advice from girls not other guys. Because most guys think alike, so if one guy's confused, then we're all confused.
23) Any guy could write out a rulebook or advice book for flirting, but no guy can write out a book about relationships.
24) If the guy does something stupid in front of the girl, he will think about it for the next couple days or until the next time he spends time with the girl.
25) If a guy looks unusually calm and laid back, he's probably faking it and is spazzing inside.
26) When a guy asks you to leave him alone, he's just actually saying, "Please come and listen to me."
27) If a guy starts to talk seriously, listen to him. It doesn't happen that often, so when it does, you know something's up.
28) When a guy tells you that you are beautiful, don't say you aren't. It makes them want to stop telling you because they don't want you to disagree with them.
29) When a guy looks at you for longer than a second, he's definitely thinking something.
30) Guys like femininity not feebleness.
31) A guy has more problems than you can see with your naked eyes.
32) Don't be a snob. Guys can be intimidated and give up easily.
33) Guys hate rejection, but they hate being led on even more.
34) If you are going to reject a guy, just do it. Don't say they are like a brother or just good friends, it just hurts even more. Tell them that you aren't interested in a relationship and they will respect you.
35) Guys really think that girls are strange and have unpredictable decisions and are MAD confusing but somehow are drawn even more to them.
36) No guy can handle all his problems on his own. He's just too stubborn to admit it.
37) Not all guys are jackass. Just because ONE is a jackass doesnt mean he represents ALL of us.
38) Guys will test the waters to see how far they can get with you. Even if he doesn't intend to it will happen. Know how far it is you want to let him go and he will respect that...after you let him know a couple times.
39) When a guy sacrifices his sleep and health just to be with you, he really likes you and wants to be with you as much as possible.

All men are extremely busy.
Although they are so busy, they still have time for women.
Although they have time for women, they don’t really care for them.
Although they don’t really care for them, they always have one around.
Although they always have one around them, they always try their luck with others.
Although they try their luck with others, they get really pissed off if the first woman leaves them.
Although the woman leaves them they still don’t learn from their mistakes and still try their luck with others.

GIRLS

1) Women love to shop. It is the one area of the world where they feel like they're actually in control.
2) Women especially love a bargain. The question of "need" is irrelevant, so don't bother pointing it out. Anything on sale is fair game.
3) Women never have anything to wear. Don't question the racks of clothes in the closet; you "just don't understand".
4) Women need to cry. And they won't do it alone unless they know you can hear them.
5) Women will always ask questions that have no right answer, in an effort to trap you into feeling guilty.
6) Women love to talk. Silence intimidates them and they feel a need to fill it, even if they have nothing to say.
7) Women hate bugs. Even the strong-willed ones need a man around when there's a spider or a wasp involved.
8) Women can't keep secrets. They eat away at them from the inside. And they don't view it as being untrustworthy, providing they only tell two or three people.
9) Women always go to public restrooms in groups. It gives them a chance to gossip.
10) If a man goes on a seven-day trip, he'll pack five days worth of clothes and will wear some things twice; if a woman goes on a seven-day trip she'll pack 21 outfits because she doesn't know what she'll feel like wearing each day.
11) Women brush their hair before bed.
12) Women are paid less than men, except for one field: Modeling.
13) Women are never wrong. Apologizing is the man's responsibility, "It's there in the Bible".
14) The average number of items in a typical woman's bathroom is 437. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.
15) Women love cats. Men say they love cats, but when women aren't looking, men kick cats.
16) Women love to talk on the phone. A woman can visit her girlfriend for two weeks, and upon returning home, she will call the same friend and they will talk for three hours.
17) A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, or get the mail.
18) Women do NOT want an honest answer to the question, 'How do I look?'
19) Women will make three right-hand turns to avoid making one left-hand turn.
20) "Oh, nothing," has an entirely different meaning in woman- language than it does in man- language.
21) Women cannot use a map without turning the map to correspond to the direction that they are heading.
22) Women don't really care about a sense of humor in a guy despite claims to the contrary.
23) It's okay for women to kiss each other and not be gay.
24) Women will spend hours dressing up to go out, and then they'll go out and spend more time checking out other women. Men can never catch women checking out other men; women will always catch men checking out other women.
25) The most embarrassing thing for women is to find another woman wearing the same dress at a formal party.

The most important thing for a woman is financial security.
Although this is so important, they still go out and buy expensive clothes and stuff.
Although they always buy expensive clothes, they say they never have something to wear.
Although they never have something to wear, they always dress beautifully.
Although they always dress beautifully, their clothes are always just ‘an old rag’.
Although their clothes are always ‘just an old rag’, they still expect you to compliment them.
Although they expect you to compliment them, when you do, they don’t believe you.

Alumni Bowling Comp

Too darn lazy and woke up late for it, despite the 2 people waiting for me being my NCO and my department head XD. Rush rush rush to the venue. Arrived at exactly 10. Guest of honor's rolloff was a strike... unlike some people. Stuck to 4th position throughout the comp. Nick Tang came with his sis after the 2nd game and left before the 3rd game finished. Supposedly to scout out for UGBC... Ah wells... brushed past with the trophy as NCO said. After that went to eat some refreshments and then went to play arcade. Pwned at sniping, shooting and driving. Lol. After that went home. Played Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI until now, but haven't won before. Darn the game is hard.

Viwawa

I seem to be getting better at Mahjong already. I can even beat my mom. She usually doesn't like paying with me because I don't care about making big hands, while she almost always does. Oh well, I've got some stroke of luck today too, getting a 9X hand woots.

Overclocking

While playing around with my BIOS for the past 3 days, I have discovered some pretty marvalous features that reside in the BIOS. the coolest being the automated overclocking feature. As my CPU fan always runs at full speed for no reason at all, I decided might as well heat that baby up a little. Since the whole thing is automated, well... one little change in the BIOS later, I'm done! The difference is absolutely wonderful. My Pentium D CPU is rated to run at 3.00GHz, now overclocked its at 3.44GHz! Now I can open like 10 VCO at the same time and I assure you it will not lag. Planning on going Sim Lim Square some day and pick up a double 4GB RAM. Thinking back, nah... 2x 2GB will do bah.

Triumphant!

Woots I finally fixed the darn thing. After only 2 days did I realise the problem might not be in the software, rather in the hardware. Dug around the inner casing of the computer. First swap the RAM around. Next unplugged the IDE cable. Finally went to look at the most unlikely place of all, the CD drive. Guess what? Houston, we have a problem. The CD drive cable connector is out of place! Or rather, one pin of the connector has came out. Plugged it back in and voila, no more BSOD (***STOP 0x000000A5 (0x00000001, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 btw). Like what the hell man. This one little pin caused me to fiddle around so much as to make Windows Vista unbootable. More specifically, I previously installed Linux openSUSE distro on the machine. During my frantic panic during the initial occurance of the problem, I thought Linux was causing a conflict as I get a kernel panic while loading it. So I erm... happily wiped out the Linux partition and the GRUB partition. What a no brainer that was man... I ended up with a system that reads "DISK READ ERROR. PLEASE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER". Obviously pressing enter doesn't work. But heck, since I've repaired Windows getting into BSODs, I was easily able to use Windows Vista installation DVD to do a repair to the MBR. Looking back, the power cable is stretched just a wee bit too tight, maybe I need to get a longer cable. Was lucky that this time it didn't do any damage to the hardware though. At the very least I will know what is wrong the next time that bloody (er... its not really red... bluey?) BSOD shows up.

Hope

Ok so the situation is slightly better now. I got Windows XP installation CD to boot with some extremely obscure option settings. However, now I screwed up GRUB so badly that it wouldn't even boot Windows Vista and let me see the Blue Screen Of Death. Darn... Can only hope that I can get Windows XP to work. Seriously, since SP3 is coming out for the Windows XP, I might as well settle down and wait for at least SP2 to come out for Windows Vista to come out before switching back. As they always say, the pioneers of Microsoft products never turn out good. But the darn BIOS still wouldn't restart properly after XP install, so now there IS hope, but the hope is very very OBSCURE...

Pissed

Ok fine, its not entirely Microsoft's fault. For those who erm... understands, here's the situation I'm facing now.

My desktop is a DIY box, meaning it didn't come from some rich guy's factory. Therefore, the BIOS is tweaked to allow all the components to work with Vista. Now Vista requires something called ACPI compability within the BIOS, and I'm extremely sure it is compatible, if not how did it work for over a year? Now here comes the problem. The CMOS battery apparently ran low on juice and lost all the BIOS settings one by one. First it lost the disable Floppy drive setting, next something else. Finally, the whole BIOS was defaulted and now Vista can't boot. Normal mode doesn't boot, Safe mode doesn't boot, even Vista DVD doesn't boot. Somehow, Linux also cannot boot, kernel panic. If Linux didn't fail, it can still be said that its only the BIOS settings at fault. Now even Linux failed... does it mean that the hard disk is somehow corrupted? ACPI table corrupted? Master Boot Record corrupted? I'm not at that level yet sadly... And apparently my Windows XP disk is lost somewhere in the mess too. If only I can boot XP... Dammit... Getting more and more pissed at Microsoft after reading what the ACPI was for. In short, it allows Vista to control power management with the BIOS. (aka help save electricity). Now which bloody idiot made this a compulsory feature!? This is getting nowhere...

[edit] Was watching TV, a show on WWI. Suddenly remembered WWI ended on 11/11 at 11AM. On 1918 too, so yesterday was exactly its 90 year anniversary[/edit]

PSP Day

Sure has been long since I last touched my PSP. Its still stuck at CFW 4.01 when the latest release is 5.00 already. Finally bothered to find the data cable, and to turn on bittorrent. Bloody dynamic IP doesn't allow me direct download from RapidShare or MegaUpload. Dammit... must sort that out with SingTel someday... On bittorrent, even something small like this update (50MB) will take up to 10 times the usual needed to finish downloading. Sudden urge to play all the latest PSP games that came out, but sadly is also why I'm going through all the hassle. I hope they fix the network update feature though... Then next time I'll only have to turn on my PSP and let it sit there for an hour...

1.50 M33-1 -> 3.51 M33-1 -> Bricked -> 3.51 M33-2 -> 3.52M33-1 -> 3.52 M33-3 -> 4.01 M33-2 -> 5.00 M33-3

Bored...

Now I finally see why some people prefer to go to school, or why old people still want to work. Cos staying at home is EXTEMELY boring. Gee... can't wait to go to China. But I think I'll basically stone at home all the same. Well... at least there is more SPACE to walk around and to walk to in China. Shanghai VS Beijing. Beijing should prove more interesting, I spent half my life in Shanghai anyway.

54 more days to 1/1/2009
*Er... does school start on that day? o.O*

Unit Chalet

Turned out to be rather uneventful after all. Met at White Sands Shopping Mall earlier with Chong We to buy the drinks for the chalet. Since everyone hates diluted syrup, we had no choice but to buy 10 x 1.5L bottles of soft drinks. Chong We as a powerful NCO pushed the responsibility ot carrying the heavy load to his secondary 2 squad lol. The whole unit was lagging at Pasir Ris MRT for quite a while. Some of us left first. I went with Soo Wee and Run Ze to go play bowling. Supposedly I was supposed to get pwned as I hadn't bowled for very long liao. In the end somehow I got the highest score... After that went to check out the chalet room. Found out that it was the same type of room as the secondary 1 chalet. Went around with Zhi Ming and Kenneth to check out the places. Kenneth always seems to attract alot of attention. After that went back to the chalet room and basically played W3 games for the rest of the chalet. Around dinner time some people went to start the BBQ. A group of us went to cheers to buy drinks. Soo Wee got some more BBQ food too. I basically daoed the BBQ and continued spamming games. Found Chong We to be a pro at W3 games, DotA included of course. Nothing much else happened... The whole squad got scolded by TanCW in the morning for wasting food. Still got loads of raw food leftover. Most of the peeps went to watch Quantum of Solace. Actually I also want to watch but I got to go buy books. Saw the booklist up close and then realised theres no need to buy any of them at all -.- Haiz... now have to find some other time to watch. Or is it on bittorrent yet?

National Air Race 2008

What good luck I had, I really wanted to join the competition, but cannot find a team. Then by chance Ernest cannot go for the competition due to AOS (he's a mugger) and I get to replace him yay. So woke up super early today... took MRT all the way to Thiong Bahru and met up with the other 2 participants, Nigel and Wei Xiang. Waited at Mac for TanCG, the teacher in charge. He is very nice and friendly, even treated all of us to breakfast at Mac. After eating breakfast went to PSB Academy, the place hosting the event. After a short wait, we went into a room and were briefed on how to play with the flight simulator, or in this case, a refresher course since I attended the sabbatical before. After some cool videos and a not so short refresher course, we were given the first envelope and the race starts. The starting airport is some small airport in a ulu location somewhere in Germany. The takeoff was easy and did not require much adjustment to reach the desired heading. Oh btw it was a team event and I was in charge of flying and Nigel and Wei Xiang did the calculations. So I continue to climb to the cruising altittude which was assumed by us to be 10000 ft when suddenly I saw the recommended cruising altittude printed in large bold blue words on the maps... 5500 ft -.- Drats... Did a quick decent, and reached the first checkpoint without problems. Due to some graphical glitch, I didn't see the landmark we were supposed to fly to and overshot quite abit. Nonetheless it was considered pass and the next envelope was given. By this time Daman High was way ahead already, as they did not overshot the first checkpoint... The rest of the race was rather uneventful, except the constant struggle with the controlled to keep the airplane from banking right and pitching up (now got muscle aches liao... imagine doing it for 1 hour). Landing was quite ok. So sad didn't win team event... Came in 5th. Next was the Individual Best Spot Landing event. I held back and took some time watching the other schools coming in for landing. Eventually I went and performed my landing quite nicely, was actually hoping to win 1st. However the might of Daman High was simple... too high... The won 1st for that too. I came in 2nd. If I'm not wrong, I would be following the other winners to have a 1 hour flying experience in a $100 million Boeing Commercial Flight Simulator. Ah wells, I think that would be at least 3 physics ACE down for next year too ^^. After that got dagged by my mom to Chinatown. WORST shopping experience ever... Guys hate shopping enough already... Added with my acheing arm, uncomfortable school uniform... thats it man... Shopping SUX! Heh... But I'm in a good mood finally! Had lotsa fun playing with the flight simulator, and most of all, getting to WIN and bring back a cool looking trophy! Yay!

~ Anyone interested in playing VCO with me?
