NU Hope

Again... For the 3rd or 4th week running I can't really remember. Came early again also for the 3rd or 4th week running. I was quite unsure of where the Istana Park was but intuition told me it was where the trees were. Quite rightly, I found the OT at a huge pavallion in the middle of a mini dense forest. Cao Yun's description of a large fountain was quite off though... I also stunned everyone by not noticing the Istana being right across the road, and me thinking that the Istana Park must be inside the Istana -.- Zhi Ming was late by 20 minutes, overslept or so he says. Chen Xu came before him at 8 sharp and we started pumping balloons. I became public enemy #1 when I started to purposely pop balloons that had holes in them. Zhen Wei came MUCH later. 2 hours later than the specified time, at 10:30 -.- He overslept too... Makes me wonder what were they doing last night... Anyway the usual stuff happened, meng spam balloons until hand get blisters. Then skip all the way until lunch. Ate at KFC, still wondering why no one can order for me, made me sit there wait for them then buy my own food -.- When I went back to "basecamp" I got stunned. 2 crumplers of the same design as Zhen Wei's. One of them is red. Just like our PT FI's crumpler... Lots of rumors today also... Zhen Wei getting more and more lame each week. Oh today's motivational food is crackers. Won't cause diarheoa, but maybe would cause constipation XD. I appreciate Cao Yun bringing "motivational" stuff for the volunteers but it always doesn't seem to serve its purpose. Heck, its the thought that counts anyway. During one of the sales trip, a round orange balloon and a white heart shaped balloon simply refused to be sold. Jonathan invented a lame joke that I wanted to give it to Cao Yun. Zhen Wei then rode on that and said the orange one was from Zhi Ming to Jia Yuin. Man the gang are getting lamer each day... Today also got alot of other interesting stuff, like 3 broken pumps, a wierd uncle that likes to pop the balloons infront of his friends, a group of professional dancers practising (not too sure... maybe is teacher and students) and Yi Jung's blue heart shaped balloon gone missing. Yi Jung was frantically searching for it lol. At end time the whole place was dam noisy and funny. The girls were chasing each other around, the guys were bonding Kliven. They almost got to throw Kliven into the large fountain. Chen Xu and I were slacking and enjoying the show. After that Lin Kai decided to give a three cheers. The OT shouted dam loud but the response was dam cold... LOL... Dinner was at Burger King, quite expensive I think. At Burger King played the staring game, I won all but Zhi Ming. Zhi Ming's match with me was always loaded with disturbances from the others. Also played the lame jokes game. Musn't laugh when people tell lame jokes. Laughed at all except at Zhi Ming's one, which was a bit of personal attack and got me angry instead. After that went to take MRT home. Train ride home was so boring, without Kliven to entertain me. He smart and took MRT to Sengkang to take bus. By the time he was halfway through the journey I was already home lol. He should have taken MRT with me. Fun day all in all.

Ok... back to the day's events. Came to school at usual time, attended flagraising as any other day. After that we were directed to Kah Kee Hall for the Teacher's day celebrations. Zhen Wei, Zhi Ming and Chong We weren't really interested in the celebrations, so we went to MA1 to slack. Chong We was zai, he know ALL the room door codes. Went inside to slack, watched YouTube. Chong We was niaoing Zhen Wei with the 我不配 MTV. After that I went to sleep. About half an hour later woke up. Chong We bought 3 cute furry toys for 3 of his favourite teachers. After that went home. Stone at home playing Age Of Empires III until 12 when Daniel called me to go down. Believe anot I just live beside my primary school, less than 10m away. Had a hard time finding the people. In the end met Zhen Jie, Daniel, Wei Quan, Kenneth and Gerald. Went to buy bubble tea after meeting up with the teachers and thanking them. Greald was wearing his sparkling white RI uniform complete with long pants. Zhen Jie decided to shoot pearls at him. It was uber funny seeing the black pearls sticking onto his white uniform. After messing around for a while the gang came to my house to play. They played Grand Theft Auto IV and I teached them how to kill other people or yourself in various interesting ways. I on the other hand went on to complete my Age Of Empires III game. Left my house at 4 and headed to Zhen Jie's house. Originally decided to play table tennis, but it was booked by other people. Badminton was the same. In the end, we played squash, which is my first. Squash is uber fun seriously, I even won some games. Daniel was from badminton school team in primary school and owned the rest of us like crap. But there was 1 game in which he lost his touch and lost to me 5 - nil. But hey, thats ONE game only. Zhen Jie's mum was very nice, asked the maid to cook some food for us. I didn't eat lunch and would have died without it. So we played, and played and played. All the way until 9PM. Daniel's father was kind enough to give me a lift home. Now my hand is very weak and I am sure to get muscle ache tomorrow. Just had dinner at 9:30PM. Fun teachers' day I guess. Can't wait to pump balloons on Sunday -.- My hand sure die de. But for the sake of not doing street sales, I shall persevere. Peseverence costs me a whopping 1750 gold lol.

Double Test Day

These sort of things just happen to often. This one was unique, 2 tests in a row without break. My most hated subject and most beloved subject back to back. Physics and Biology. Physics test was ok, as I had did some last minute mugging and was saved by Zhi Ming little notebook. Still haven't gotten over the fact that a 20N force can accelerate a 5.0Kg weight at 1.0m/s^2. Isn't 5.0Kg 50N? Oh well die lerh... Zhi Ming on the other hand always gets A2 and above when he says "sure fail le". If he says "ok larh" then its confirmed A1. It was only tyco I got the same score as him last term.

Next was Biology test, straight after the Physics teacher stepped out. Judging from the thin 2 pieces of question, I can only guess the weightage of the essay questions... GG... Well I was right, 6M + 2M + 4M for essay questions. The DNA section was supposed to be easy, unfortunately I screwed up the reading of amino acids, I read them from the tRNA instead of the mRNA. 2M flies away... The essay questions were not too hard fortunately... The 6M question was to design and explain an experiment for the test of the need of light for photosynthesis. I glimpsed at Kliven's answer and he was just writing a big chunk of words. I on the other hand took a different approach and made it like experimental procedures. I don't really know which format is accepted though... GG if 6M fly away! The other 2 questions were kind of repetitive, first was how do plants get their supply of amino acids, to which the answer is Nitrogenous compounds and the second question was what if the plant lacks nitrogen -.- Free marks if you know the answer to either question. Last question was on lack of magnesium. I totally forgot what magnesium was for, only later did Zhou Kai remind me it was for chlorophyll synthesis.



After the day went to play basket ball with the usual people. Zhi Ming was super zai today, 100% rebound catch rate (who couldnt with 1.80 height? XD). Something extremely funny happened to Zhi Ming also, thought I shall not elaborate. Tired... Emo... Zi Bei... thats all I can say... EOY here I come...

POP

Today was batch 39's passing out parade. I just realised that we are batch 40 and so is NYNP. I always thought that our unit is older... POP started with muster parade, this time though with Ting Yit as parade commander. Nothing too sentimental about it though, and contingent commanders were the new NCOs. Went to Drama Centre afterwards, got put in charge of photo taking. Chong We was in charge of doing up the photo montage and I felt that he was quite good at it. He was also the MC for the event. There was a slight technical glitch with the sound system so TanCW, delivered his speech first. He said alot of usual stuff but the thing that caught my attention was that he is stepping down as OC Unit. I had thought that it was only rumors... So its true... Next was the photo montage. It was quite funny seeing all the photos of our NCOs in their secondary 1 days... so funny in fact some of them look childishly funny... There were also some videos of cadets thankin their NCOs, i realised that the higher level you get, the more niao the video is. Sec 1s and 2s are still quite sincere, sec 3s were like niaoing. Anyway I was the editor of the videos so I knew what surprises there were already lol. After the photo montage was the handing over of the various exco positions, or aka gifting session. Zhen Wei was dam niao as he gave hao jie a soft toy lamb and a wallet. The lamb represents his girlfriend lol... I got a nice photo of hao jie holding the lamb beside zhen wei. After taking squad photos with the passing out NCOs, we were held back by Mr Ong for a short talk, mostly on teamwork. Wonder why he talk about backstabbing though... Our squad got backstabbers meh (I hope not...)? This little talk cost us our dinner lol. All the food was gone when we got out. So Kai Chin and Zhi Ming decided to go KAP lol. Zhen Wei was kind of hesitant but went anyway. Halfway through the meal, Zhen Wei suddenly recieved a call from Nicholas, all the NCOs were supposed to stay back and help clean up. It was quite clear that Zhen Wei was the only NCO at KAP. After that the rich kias went for desert, Zhi Ming got a McFlurry... Thinking back, he was the only one that got desert anyway... He also told me that Green Tea McFlurry is lousy and costs more. Zhi Ming left half an hour before me, I stayed back to see Chong We write a niaoing biography on Zhen Wei. Wonder why this time Chong We not very explicit with his niaoing, must been too late and foggy mind. Went out to take bus and saw Zhi Ming and Kai Chin still waiting for 67. 852 came and I suggested Zhi Ming to take it and he say I niao him... GL lor... Went across and 67 came immediately... LOL...

Malaysia Trip

I finally found time to blog, with all the hectic schedules and lunwen that i just completed. Basically heres a summary of what happened in Malaysia.

DAY1
~ Reached school at 6:45 exactly, dropeed my laptop twice...
~ Coach, erm no... uber nice coach, erm no... 5 star coach brought us to Tuas checkpoint
~ Passed Singapore checkpoint and onto Malaysia
~ Malaysian local tourguide got on at Malaysia checkpoint
~ Drove like hell and eventually had lunch at a nice local restaurant
~ Had a peranakan lunch, sharing table with the teachers (3 from HCI and 4 from AOS)
~ Chendol was served with brown sugar instead, slightly less sweet but still as nice

~ Went to Mid Valley Mega-Mall
~ Truly mega mall with 5 stories and 5 courts (aka mini malls). N, S, E, W and center
~ Bought cooked wedges and popcorn chicken from carrefour at uber cheap price
~ Shared with Jun Yi who unfortunately wandered off alone and missed good bargains

~ Went to hotel to check-in
~ Uber nice 5 star hotel, sharing room with Zhen Wei
~ Set up my laptop but unfortunately found out that broadband costs money
~ Played a game of dota for 10 minutes then went to lobby to gather
~ Went to another restaurant for dinner, had black peppr chilli crabs (1 of 3) -.- and thai style fried fish (also 1 of 3)
~ After that went to see fireflies, short 30 minutes boat ride along the river banks
~ Wowed by the beauty of the fireflies
~ The local guide caught one for us too take a closer look
~ 500RM fine for illegal capture lol
~ Coach ride back to hotel
~ Had bonding session (no names here)
~ Zhen Wei ordered room service, a large pizza for RM22
~ Delievery charge of RM3... 6 foors by elevator costs so much -.-
~ Zhen Wei kept on niaoing me, so I decided to make him my "wife" for the rest of the trip

DAY 2
~ Woke up by morning call from lobby counter
~ Called me TWICE -.-
~ "wife" refuses to wake up
~ Got down for buffet breakfast (1 of 2) with 15 minutes left
~ Ate rice + sambal (i will regret later) + sausages + fruit juice
~ Loooooooong 3 hour drive to Gua Tempurung
~ Went on a tour named"Top Of The World"
~ Had bad stomach ach from the very start, held for 30 minutes then cannot
~ Went to river and did stuff
~ Looked back and saw that i had descended a 5m sheer cliff O.O (how did i do that?)
~ Got more than i had brgained for from the cave visit -.- (rest walked the concrete pavement)
~ The guide was super friendly and polite (Sir here sir there, the teachers should have taken the cue and give tips...)
~ My shoe got wet and stank for the rest of the trip

~ Original plan to go to the Geological Museum but its closed for renovations
~ Went to the East Coast Batik shop instead
~ Hand made Batik is so nice
~ Machine printed batik is clearly different and lower quality
~ HCI people surely will not buy anything right... and my "wife" (zw) didnt want any...

~ Dinner was chilli crabs again (2 of 3)
~ All meals at local restaurants were the best
~ Short (1 hour) coach ride back to hotel
~ Heard that the AOS people were playing strip poker with the sec 4 HCI people
~ Kiat Long even claims to see a girl in bra
~ Shall not thnk too much... "wife" (zw) even suggested we play...
~ Slept at around 3, since next day sure uber long coach ride anyway
~ Slept in Kiat Long's room, "wife" (zw) and Kiat Long share bed, I took Zhong Yang's
~ Zhong Yang slept on the chair for unobvious reasons
~ He didnt mind just to clarify...

DAY 3
~ "wife" (zw) woke up even later than before
~ this time 10 minutes left for buffet breakfast (2 of 2)
~ care not to take sambal (luckily there wasnt any)
~ took alot of easy to eat stuff like roti prata and curry
~ their scrambled eggs were GODLY, best EVER (soft, mushy, chewy, goodness of egg yolk)!!!
~ Went to "North West Selangor Agrotourism Project"
~ Basically modernised rice fields and a "tourist spot" sign
~ Saw this zai transplanter machine, 插秧usually took 7 men 5 days, with the machine, only 3 hours
~ Went to see the irrigation networks, saw a dead mice along the way
~ Went to see a rice mill, rice dust was everywhere and I had a beyond godlike sneezing spree
~ Got chong jiat into a pile of rice husks for fun
~ The plant was self sufficient as the energy needed comes from burning rice husks
~ Dunno about environmental damage though...
~ We were told how brown rice was just unpolished white rice, with the layer of bran still on it
~ Yet brown rice is more expensive... crazy manufacturers...
~ Told of the polishing method... pretty complicated stuff
~ Lunch at another local restaurant
~ Had... chilli... crabs.... (3 of 3)
~ I finally decided to try some lol... XD I would have been sian if i ate all 3 sets
~ After lunch went to tour an oil palm mill
~ Serious safety equipments were given to us...
~ The smell there was horrible, but so was my shoe... soaked for 5 hours already
~ Cave water yes, Guano water NO. not the bat season ya know...
~ Basically heard nothing as the machinery was dam loud
~ Coach ride back to Singapore
~ Delayed by 4 hours
~ Reached back in school at 11PM
~ my "wife" (zw) wanted us to wait for his bus come, "dun pangseh him"
~ pity him as 852 was kinda rare, esp at night
~ finally came after about 20 mins... i almost dozed off standing there...
~ chong jiat was kind enough to let me hitchhike his taxi
~ i got off at eunos and took 28 home
~ 28 minutes wait before 28 came lol
~ HOME SWEET HOME

NU Hope

[rant]Sian... I seriously should put all my blogging effort into doing work, such as my unstarted 论文... Malaysia trip post shall wait maybe...[/rant]

Today was night sale, should be more interesting as jy puts it... Reached super early, maybe I was too kiasu... Reached half an hour before 6 and went to slack. I was on the same train as 2 other NYGH volunteers but they took the wrong exit and I arrived 15 mins before them... zm came at 5:45 and zw need to wait till 6:05 before seeing his holiness arriving... slack around more as zw was smsing until 6:15 when jy arrived. Dint see her crumpler before, exactly the same as weilin's one though... Then started to sell stuff when Jon arrived. Oh jon arrived before zw, and went to look for him, then zw arrive, then jon 白跑一趟... Street sale wasnt fun at all... in fact its torturous... i dun like talking to strangers... call me shy wadever... So I can only stand back and watch zm, jon and zw asking for donations.... i can only say sorry i dun hav courage to do so. Basically waste time till some random time between 6 and 9 and went back to the "basecamp". All the wristbands need recharging liao... they were glow in the dark and since they are of "high" quality, they need to recharge on light often... After that more selling... just a lil secret, all the money collected up till then was from our own pockets... XD guys are noob at selling stuff... made another round to takashimaya, beat up kenneth and force him to buy 2 wristbands and went back at around 8:30. Then we decided to camp at the overhead bridge, got double our sales within half an hour... den go back and slack till 9:30. zw was deciding where to eat, since he ate at kfc earlier in the day. in the end still went kfc lol... i sleepy head decide to sleep on the stone bench, then the 3 of them decided to run silently away... then jy was goin "he really going to sleep there meh" den i look around and found them missing... i ask caoyun and she said they ran to mrt. i panic den run towards mrt but caught a glimpse of jon in kfc. i went toilet first to make them think i falled for the trick then owned them back when jon called. then i ordered my dinner and ate. i also said that caoyun sabo me, because they say she purposely point me in wrong dir. then when she reply i found out that she isnt in it with them. -.- really sorry... my fren sabo de. if you read this im really sorry... i used quite harsh words... went home in record time XD, zm lolol.

Malaysia Trip

Phew I just came back from the trip. The ride home was delayed by a whopping 4 hours, resulting us reaching school at 11:00PM instead of 7:00PM. Chong Jiat was nice enough to offer me a ride as he was taking the cab. Got to Eunos at around 11:30PM and just reached home. 28 is a freaking rare bus. Shall post more about the trip details next time. Freaking tired...

NU Hope

Today went for NU Hope again, this time its at Orchard. Was pretty doubtful about people buying balloons at orchard in the first place. Took MRT there and miraculously arrived before Zhen Wei and Zhi Ming. I don't really have the knack for judging time but this time I was just right. Then it was Zhen Wei and Zhi Ming who were late lol. I arranged for them to arrive at 7:45 AM and Zhi Ming arriving at 7:50 AM instead, with Zhen Wei taking the wrong exit resulting in 5 more minutes of delay. After meeting up with Zhen Wei and Zhi Ming, we walked from Orchard MRT to Far East Plaza, niaoing Zhi Ming the whole way though. I also was surprised when Zhi Ming said that Jia Yuin was coming, I thought she coming only next week. Arrived at Far East Plaza at 8:10 AM and saw the usual 4 organisers. I finally know all their names liao, they are: Yeu Jia, Cao Yun, Lin Kai and Jia Yin. Hope I spelt them correctly... Anyway they had a pretty good headstart and one whole table was filled up with balloons. Started pumping balloons straight away, with Jonathan Seng arriving shortly after. Then the "management" of Far East Plaza come and KP us, say cannot use the tables because it is within provate property. Forced to shift to along the pedestrian walkway. Got one funny couple went to take photos infront of the huge stack of balloons, which I thought was quite an interesting idea, since no one would be likely to see this much balloonsat one place in Orchard. I was reluctant to go sell balloons and hence helped to pump more and more balloons. Finally I gave in to Zhi Ming and the girls' persuasion and went to see balloons. Zhi Ming quite pro at selling the balloons. His method of targeting couples and children is quite effective, and the number of rejections were significantly reduced because of "natural selection". Went back to the stall at around 12:15 PM. Zhi Ming is lucky that I persuaded him to turn around and head back before 12 PM, if not we would have been caught in the huge downpour that followed shortly. When we arrived there, all the girls were frantically trying to cover the exposed balloons. Just my opinion, Jia Yuin and Yi Jung were very high and noisy lol. Went around and help to stick the rain ponchos onto the balloons. Quite an irony since they were obviously meant for us. The rain was quite heavy and most of the bags "着凉" according to Jia Yuin lol and poor Jonathan's homework was all wet. After the rain I continued to pump balloons, until the organisers felt that theres too many balloons. Since the balloons were wet, they were easily dirtied when they fell on the ground and I got the "glamorous" job of cleaning balloons. LOL. Cao Yun also offered us Toblerone as snacks. I know she meant good but she always seem to give us snacks that are either hard to eat, or totally inedible. Examples such as last week's tissue paper and seaweed and this weeks totally melted toblerone. Yuan Feng also got to "kiss" Yeu Jia according to Cao Yun, who said that Yeu Jia took a bite directly into the whole Toblerone bar. Oh my, Katherine will be so jealous / pissed... I was kind of smart and took a piece after breaking a piece off for Yuan Feng. Unfortunately the piece I took was slightly large and it was melting in my hands. Kliven went on to invent a sick joke that the Toblerone looks like shit and that eating it will cause constipation / diarrhea. Ironic ar... Both constipation and diarrhea at the same time... Then Cao Yun and Lin Kai see I so "可怜" eating the Toblerone and that she slightly believed in Kliven's words, told me to throw it away. I did but was slightly guilty since Cao Yun said the whole bar costs $10 plus. Its also imported from Australia according to her. The whole day I was in charge of looking after the place, a small little gap under the overhead bridge, which I really didn't mind because it was next to Sweet Talk. There was one time I was sitting there with Cao Yun and Lin Kai and Cao Yun was talking about her parents I think, I wasn't paying much attention but then Cao Yun whacked Lin Kai on the head with a balloons which was dam funny. Another time I was alone manning the stall. A group of 4 NYGH volunteers came back and wanted to take a break, then suddenly this security guy come and KP, saying that his manager is about to come and that we need to shift. I panic and since my handphone died on me, I panicked even more lol. Luckily I spotted Jia Yuin and her group of volunteers just down the road. I went to them and asked them to try and contact the organisers. The organisers didn't pickup, so I went back to the place and panic more. Finally after like 15 minutes then they arrive and they told me that the security guard was a scam -.- Major skip to going home time... Just when we were about to go home another heavy downpour... So the whole group was talking about umbrellas, share with who and stuff. They don't really seem to mind that their bags are getting wet -.- Even though my property is not at stake since I didn't bring a bag, I was kind enough to help save their bags. Zhen Wei's krumpler, Yuan Feng's krumpler, the organisers' "imitation krumpler" and Jia Yuin's gangs' bags. The funny thing is, the group discuss for so long that the rain had died down and is "safe" enough to walk without umbrella. Kliven was kind of "scared" of rain and still used his umbrella lol. This sort of thing is what Zhen Wei picks upon to niao you. After that went to take MRT with Kliven and Yuan Feng. When the MRT about to come liao Yeu Jia and Cao Yun appeared, carrying with them the day's collection cans in the trolley. Yuan Feng then left us to take the MRT with the girls instead, giving no reason to his sudden departure. One can only guess that he went to "help" the girls. Added with the fact that the MRT was jam packed, one can guess that Yuan Feng had a great time.

Oh and China just won the gold medal in table tennis. One needs 1% brain power to come to that prediction. However, Singapore put up a good fight and deserves some recognition too.

Friday Training

Second last training with our 2008 NCOs before POP. *Sobs* Really lol... Ignorance may be bliss... unlike all the female units crying during POP. But still, our NCOs are the best. Friday training was quite slack, basically rifle drill and PT. Also recieved my Sergeant chevron at last. Darius er... jiayou... Rifle drill was kind of cool, we learnt how to do the firing of the rifle like the one seen during NDP. The commands were turned kind of sick by gheekian... laughed alot also. The NCOs also made us see the drill standards of the Sec 1s and also let the new Sec 1 NCOs take the squad for a while. In the end gheekian and me made a too sick joke out of the commands and were made to run around the parade square once with the rifle on top of the head. lol... PT was slack too, I didn't go run because of in-grown toenail. CI Da Yan came and tried to make us do some exercises. He easily pwned thuan seng because he cannot withstand his shoulder squeeze. I easily tanked it and even niaoed him abit. Usually I would've ended up in pumping position by now but he is also taking it easily since its the 2nd last training. After dismissed went to sign signature for the digital signatures. Then dunno which part of me made me volunteer to scan the signatures. Eugene unfortunately forgot and left early... After that had a short talk with Jun Rong and the revelation of all the work that I'm gonna have to do, and that I am the only person in the department to tank. (Ting Yit help?) Benjamin is also dam nice... I waited for him for 30 minutes to go eat KFC with him. After like 40 minutes I called him and he said he cannot go. Haiz... in the end ate with Nick, Zhen Wei and Chong We at poolside. Niaoed Zhen Wei abit, particularly about the flashing light and "white" chairs. After that went home... Abit de tired so played dota, then Chong We screwed up his GG and cannot play. Ting Yit going for OB Sabah today, I asked him for 1 last game then he also screwed up his warcraft 3... IF only dota can stop screwing up...

WHAT? Singapore in the silver/gold medal match? Did I see/hear wrong?! Nah I didn't... Yep so its true. Singapore VS China. Guess what? Oh wait... don't even need to guess... Maybe China should let Singapore win. Let Singapore get its first ever Olympic medal, let alone gold. Let the athletes involved turn super rich. But wait... Its not all about money... Its about sportsmanship and skill.

Olympics

Watching the olympics has never been so emotional. Especially when the scores are only 1 apart.

30M Women Archery Individual Finals (Korea VS China)
Korea was leading by 3 after the 1st end, with Zhang shooting a disappointing 7 on her second arrow.
Zhang caught back up and was leading after the 3rd end.
Zhang eventually won by 1 point.

Women Team Fencing Finals (Ukraine VS China)
Ukraine lost the first 2 bouts by 10 - 2
Bao performed disappointingly and lost 12 - 5 to the Ukrainian
China caught up eventually and was tied at 44 - 44 at the last bout.
Last hit was not counted due to simultaneous hit, hence point 45 was fought over twice.
Both lights lit up, but the point was given to Ukraine.
Ukraine won with a remarkable turnover from 10 points defeciet after the 3rd bout.

Police Land Division Visit

Today we went to Tanglin Police Headquarters for the visit. According to Zhen Wei, its purely for the UOPA points. If I'm not wrong, Nanyang also went before, so hope they get UOPA gold lor... Anyway we get to pon lessons from 2PM onwards, SUPER HAPPY because it was chinese lesson. So firstly we gathered at SALT Center and was off by 2:20PM. The bus ride to KK Hosital was very fun. Got the Thuan Seng there cracking jokes on me and Kenneth (seriously I don't mind...), got Jun Xian who tio me sitting beside him, and Kenneth who chose to sit with Thuan Seng over sitting with a Nanyang girl. After he did that everyone was saying that Kenneth is a gay lol... Jun Rong smarter took the seat, and the girl got off 1 stop later anyway. So Kenneth was like damn suay and had to sit with Thuan Seng for 10mins. What went on afterwards is too raw for blogs.

We reached KK Hospital at exactly 3:00PM, the time by which we were supposed to be at the Police Headquarters already. Heck lar, late also nothing will happen... Finally reached Tanglin Police Headquarters at 3:10PM, quite a long and hot walk even though its just behind KK Hospital. We were greeted by 2 police officers who I think are serving their NS time in the Police Force. They first let the squad have mass toilet break, I didn't want to go so slacked around with BenSpark and Zhi Ming. Then we went to the fourth floor for a short presentation on Tanglin Police Headquarters. The presentation was about the functions of the unit and all the boring sorts. BenSpark was very sleepy and kept dozing off. I tried to keep him awake by patting him every 10 seconds but he fell back to sleep within 2 seconds -.- Basically he was awake only 20% of the time... After the boring presentation was a tour of the place. We first went to the games room, which unfortunately is locked because it was still office time. Anyway the soccer machine thingy needs 50 cents per game lol, but I'm sure Zhen Wei got spare change. Next we went to the gym, and saw posters of Zhen Wei on the walls. All got freaking big muscles, mostly body builders I think. After that went to the basketball court, saw the motorcycle that I remember seeing on Jia Yuin's blog, a large van that carried dead bodies and some police equipment. They actually opened up the back of the van for us to see. Quoting myself, "Theres not much of a smell but the only thing to worry about is not ending up inside that." Anyway Zhi Ming wasn't really attentive throughout the whole thing, with many squadmates trying to backstab him and see who he was smsing on his handphone. I didn't bother, because the riot shield and bullet proof vest is obviously more interesting. After that we were dismissed lol, took 170 to Bugis and then took MRT. Chatted with demi-god, Ying Jie and Cheng An. We got to a conclusion that Ying Jie has 175 girlfriends because "demi" means quarter and Zhen Wei has 700, so 700 / 4 is 175. Also discussed a little bit about what POP present to buy for NCO, but I obviously can't be bothered because sure Ting Yit buying, and that I have means to avoid paying him :)

In conclusion, the trip home is more interesting than the visit. (Except the part where Zhen Wei, Chong We and Run Ze gang Zhi Ming to snatch his handphone, Zhi Ming still 老当益壮, and perservered through the incident)

Anyway, back to the day's happenings...

I woke up kinda late because of yesterday's almost midnight dotaing with Zhen Wei and Chong We. So I expected myself to be late lor... In the end tio scam (3rd time in a row btw) by the bus and arrived just on time at Ang Mo Kio Interchange. I went to MRT to find Zhen Wei then went out to find the "stall". Then I stun... A whole bunch, about 12+ girls there with even more balloons... Zhen Wei was saying thats not them but it must be them what, cos I know the POC group and thats definitely not them... Feels kinda akward but then we saw Chen Xu. He said that he's been there since 8. He was pumping balloons for 4 hours liao cos the group was selling balloons. His hands look like its been in the water for 1 day liao, all the skin coming off. So I and Zhen Wei started to help to pump balloons lol. Then pump for like dam long ler Zhen Wei gave up and went with Jonathan to try to sell them. I was surprised they actually sold a few since they were charged at $2 EACH. Zhen Wei also impressed the girls by buying 2 notebooks ($5 each) from the POC group in exchange for them buying 2 balloons ($4) from us. I try not to embarras myself and bought 1 balloon and donated all coins I had. Then after a few minutes Zhen Wei took out 4 $2 notes and $2 worth of coins and bought 5 more balloons!!! Wadde... I have nothing to say... I and Alvin do the saikang stuff and keep pumping balloons. Just when we were about to finish the balloons, they told us there is 2 more packets of green balloons. Each packet contains about 100 balloon and green was the yuckiest colour ever for a balloon. Alvin said he was going to get greenphobia and balloonphobia lol. Luckily they were short of the plastic clips that held the balloon to the stick and we were saved from the green monsters. I was almost completely covered with balloons by 4 lor... The wind was also very funny, blow the balloons all around. I sacrificed myself and sat infront of the balloons, most didn't fly afterwards but some did from the sides. Then I and Alvin were told to sell balloons. From past experience at POC, its a confirmed failure. Skip... So slacked all the way from 5:20 to 6 and the group was joking and talking. The coordinator was also getting despo about what to sell at orchird and was saying lame and no link stuff. "Sell saga seeds"... Lol wth? After that we got dismissed lor, the 4 NY girls discuss about their big problem with the donation cans. Got about 20 cans and can't really carry onto public transport... They said we could leave liao then I went cheers to buy a drink before taking 25 home. The balloon pumping really very tiring leh... I always see other people pump balloons so easy then I try myself so tiring. That is probably the 2nd scam of the day.

In the end now got muscle ache liao lol... When I took 25 home i got scammed again cos it was wayyy longer than 24 which I took to go there...

NDP 2008

This is the real one, the one at Marina Bay. I watched a few parts only lar, mostly the parade. The parade was quite spectacular, except that up close, their drill level will never match up to Ting Yit or Zhen Wei. A failed hormat here and there, and a few dropped rifles during precision drill. But hey, the audience there won't see it that close, and the far view is quite nice too. The ceremonial parade was quite zai also. The parade commander reminded me of Zhen Wei, the parade 2 IC was slightly lower ranking because he wore a beret instead of a pickcap. The overall parade quite zai, but just slightly more fanciful than our school based one lol. But we must applaude them all for the 3 months of training for this event. I was super eager to see the NPCC contingent, see if I can spot Qing Yang. Unfortuately the cameraman don't like NPCC and never took a up close shot of the NPCC contingent. The inspection of the Guard Of Honour also reminded me of our school's parade. Zhi Ming doing slow march in front of Mr Hon (Nardan in this case). The Guard Of Honour for the NDP carry real guns though, though it only fires blanks. If only our school based NDP can have 21 gun salute... *awakes into reality* So... as I was saying, the camera never got a up close shot of the NPCC contingent. Only saw the girl guides and NCC contingents during their march out of the waiting area. They also never show the marchpast of the supporting contingents, if there was even one... But hey, the spotlight is on the GOH mah... They look dam cool, all in ceremonial (aka #1) uniform, in which they look frigging smart (shuai is a word reserved for Zhen Wei)... The Navy especially with their fully white uniform (kinda like nanyang LOL). I don't like the army's pant though, the white line through the middle makes it look like trackpants -.- Also watched the paratroopers jump, though I forgot what the group was called. Got one guy smack his face on the ground during landing, poor guy had to be darn embarrassed... Anyway I skipped all the rest until the fireworks part. The fireworks was spectacular, more zai because my house can see the tip of the explosions. It also lasted dam long which means it is frigging ex also. My mom was saying like each explosion can pay for a person's university fees. I think she exaggerated it abit but I also think its quite true. Come to think of it, I'm going to do CIP tomorrow (or rather today since its after 12...) to raise funds for charity, why not just shorten the fireworks display and donate some money to charity? But then, its national pride... Such dilemas...

Happy 43rd Birthday Singapore!

HCI NDP 2008

Today was the school's NDP. Went to school late, as even taking 1st bus will still be late, and I not very willing to take a cab. Friendly neighbourhood chairman and contingent commander Ting Yit reserved my GOH spot for me. Thanks man <3. We were like late lol... 7 supposed to form up in the end formed up only at around 7:10. During the parade not very nervous lar, but got one hormat the rifle latch caught my trouser pocket and caused me to screw up the hormat. Otherwise nothing much, also I saw Mrs Lee and Mrs Goh talking and smiling and pointing at Zhen Wei.

After NDP went to NPCC room to watch the 2008 / 2009 ExCo big 11 take ExCo photo. Then went to see the national day concert. We missed most of the convert liao, only left mass singing session. Lol, Zhi Ming laughing at a HP guy dancing... Then ended after about 20 mins after reaching there. Then I, Jon, Kliven and Zhen Wei went for Biology lesson. The Biology teacher say got see Zhen Wei parade commander sia... Say very shuai also lol... She also saw me, but not chong we. She probably also saw Zhi Ming because he parade marker very obvious but didn't mention lol...

After that we went to IRC. Went there liao saw that IRC was full, the LAN centre below it also full. So we went to eat chicken rice opposite the road. Cost like $5+... Dam lame lor, I rather eat MacDonalds since $5+ already... After that went to Yishun to watch The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. We had a sick analogy of Zhen Wei and General Ming lol, too sick to post here. After movie went to below Shaun's house to play basketball after that took 854 home. I always tio scam by buses... This one seems short but is !@#$ long...

Test 1: Biology
Basically the same, if you got read notes and got logic, surely can A1 de. Up until now in my school life, the only 2 subjects that I can get A1 without mugging or is even interested in is Biology and IS.

Test 2: Maths ~ Matrices
For ACE only test, open book somemore, more reasons for those who have maxed maths ACE to slack off and hand in a blank piece of paper. Unfortunately, I do not fall under that category. After some head scratching and peeking at Zhi Ming being equally bewildered, I managed to figure out how to the questions. Unfortunately recess came too fast and the temptations prevented me from continuing. I did almost 2/3 of the paper so I hope to get 2 ACE points...

Test 3: Chinese ~ Composition
A sure boredom test for EVERYONE I assure you. I was stupid enough to write 实用文 first before 作文, which caused my 作文 to be shorter than the first due to the lack of concentration, the onset of boredom and the aching hands. The relief only came after I wrapped up my 作文, when Zhen Wei's handphone began vibrating non-stop and all the funny-funny smsing under the table, and hiding from TanGC...

Oh and I overslept the HCI stop this morning... how stupid... Jonathan was taking the same bus as me but the guy beside me was sleeping, so I decided not to call out to Jonathan in fear of waking the guy beside me. In the end, I fell asleep and missed the stop. Had I alerted Jonathan, he could have waked me up... I hope this good deed of mine could repay itself someday, though I don't expect much, cos my life sux

Physics SPA + IHE

This week and the week before can be called "block" tests lol... So many tests cramped into 2 weeks and teachers especially like Thursdays, with 4 last week and 3 this week landing on Thursday. So first test was IHE, Geog. Pretty sian regurgitating all the facts, but thanks to me not mugging the notes, I wrote A as the Asian plate. Then after test Zhi Ming was going like "got Asian plate meh?". Luckily he tell me ar then I go change. Then the small little plate is the Nazca plate lor, I tot it was the Juan De Fuca plate... Lol I suck... Then I also wrote that North American plate subducts beneath the Nazca plate, which was wrong beyond wronglike... So thanks to Zhi Ming, maybe this time IHE still got hope lar... Then still got Physics SPA test. Went pretty well lor, all the experimental procedures were right, I hope... Unfortunately I forgot to convert mass into Kg and got a super big number instead. Ang said that she will not count the answer because the experiment has a lot of errors involved. But this mistake pobably counted as calalculation error lor... Sian, there goes my full marks dream...

Regarding the previous post: Personally, I don't think that girls are evil. They are sometimes but when they are nice they are nicer than guys. Just something funny to share with one and all. No offence :P

Prism Of Colours

This post will appear every Sunday I suppose... Went for Prism Of Colours again, today its at Outram Park. Don't know why they choose such a ulu place, even though its right beside Chinatown, its still very ulu -.- The I got scammed again by the bus, same as last week, and arrived 30mins before time, same as last week. Then I slack around, got a big gulp, went around Outram Park MRT station. I found a little LAN centre there, its rates are $1.95 per hour. Its purely prychological that $1.95 seems way cheaper than $2 -.- It also has a funny sign that tells you where the station's toilet is, seems to me that alot of urgent gamers can't find the toilet -.- So Kliven arrived at 12 but I couldn't find him. Outram Park has 4 exits and Kliven tells me to try A or B. I tried both and saw no one around. Then somehow instinct tells me that its should be at D, where there is a long and crowded walkway, and I was right. So Kliven brought along a new friend today, Marcus. Marcus quite good at collecting donations. He also showed me and Kliven how to trap a chiobu into the wall. He also kept on commenting that the Saint Nicks girls are better at collecting donations due to gender advantage, and also that one of them is chio. Regarding gender advantage, quotes myself "A girl's smile is better than a boy's one". Agree? Then around 2+ Zi Cong showed up. The first thing to do when anyone you know shows up is a gangbang to ask for donations. Unfortunately he is kind of broke... Then he tells me of how Jonathan is slacking and mugging for geog. zzz pissed... String Orc is gonna have a concert tonight at the Esplanade, wish them good luck lor... After Marcus left it became pretty boring... Kliven went to slack with Zhou Kai, and Zi Cong was pretty lousy at collecting donations. He always blame feng shui lol. But the Saint Nicks were really "god like", they sold 4 notebooks in half an hour. The other group who cant sell any just went to "restock" the girls and they immediately sold one... Sian... They should just ask for female volunteers only... Then sian all the way until 3:50 when I went to slack with Kliven. He dunno playing what soccer game and when I sat down he immediately throw a egg tart at me. 5 sec stun + 500 dmg... Whatever, I threw it back at him... perma-stun + K.O. Well it was exaggerated, dint want the tart, was given to him by the FEMALE OT anyway, he should show some "sincereity". Then went home on MRT with Kliven. Chose not to eat outside cos my father just came bac from China and I miss his cooking. My mum lousy cook, then again, aren't girls supposed to be better cooks?
